A group of us went down to Guadalajara for the holidays to experience life in Mexico's second largest city. Our days consisted of curb tacos, skateboarding, and a little rooftop yoga to keep everything moving. We had some very special run-ins with a few local Mexican families that will keep us smiling for months to come :)
Our friend Reuben Bullock is the front man of Calgary’s very own, Reuben and the Dark. He gave us some time in the middle of their North American tour to talk music, skateboarding, and overcoming self-doubt. His words are honest, insightful, and rather inspiring - making this is a very special one for us.
Nature Of is a four piece indie rock band based out of Edmonton, AB who were kind enough to let us ask them a few questions as they hit the road for their west coast tour. They discuss the feeling they get after playing a new song for the first time, what it's like working on their upcoming album with Marcus Paquin, and creating the score for the All Aboard Documentary.
Bwren and Dylan recently flew down to Mexico to meet up with our favourite nomad, Ryan Fyfe-Brown. Ryan showed us around the Baja Peninsula, introduced us to the locals, and led us to skate spots so unique most people wouldn't so much as give them a second glance.
Our friend Cassie Suche is an artist, surface designer, and illustrator based out of Calgary. Her ability to combine her formal education with her own explorative style has caught the eyes of many, and provides her with the tools to create something unique. Read more to learn about Cassie's creative process, her involvement in Calgary's Beltline Urban Mural Project, and why she thinks it's important to learn the rules so that you can figure out how to break them.
